Intentions & Envisioning for 2012

Writing down a list of goals in a task type fashion is great. It helps you see what you need to do, make a plan, and then get it done - I am all for it. But sometimes I like to visualize things in pictures as well as in writing, especially when the stuff I want to accomplish is on a grander scale than going to the store for a loaf of bread or cleaning out the rain gutters. So this weekend, with a few friends along for the journey (because it is way more fun when friends are around), I did an "Intentions & Envisioning" collage. I cut out pictures from magazines of images that rang true for what my wishes and dreams are for 2012.

The grand themes for me in 2012 are Vocation (Finding the work that is truly me and finances my life), Relationship/Love (Connecting well with my husband), and Home (Making it comfy, clean, and user friendly). For vocation the pictures I cut out were of women (I am a woman) that are confident, self-assured, prepared, but also easy going. For relationship I cut out images of couples hugging, kissing, walking on the beach, and relaxing on the couch together. For home I chose wide open sitting rooms with desks and bookshelves, beautiful bathrooms, cozy bedrooms, and outdoor gardens with brick pathways, flower beds and vegetable gardens. I also cut out words and phrases, in all different type faces, that related to the themes. Here are some of them: for vocation I cut out "Personal Growth and Professional Success", "Strong and Balanced", "Unlock your inner resources". For relationship I clipped "Healthy Living", "Love", "Open Awareness" and "Real Simple". For home I chose "Vibrant Dream" and "Garden House".

All of the images and words on my intentions and envisioning collage are part of my own journey of finding my voice and moving toward the most powerful, confident, and capable me that I can be. I am going to tuck my collages into my inspiration file and let them simmer and steep like a good cup of tea. And in a few days, weeks, months, and even years' time, I'll have things to write on my to do list: deposit my paycheck, schedule a walk on the beach with my hubby, and plant sunflower seeds in the yard. All because I spoke up and am finding my voice.
