Show #8 - March 19, 2012

I am thoroughly enjoying my work at Dominican University's radio station, radio.dominican.edu.

Every aspect of the job is fascinating and interesting; research, pre and post production, air time, responding to letters from listeners and talking to callers, technical trouble shooting, photography, station maintenance, listening to all the shows for FCC compliance, reviewing DJ Blogs, writing job descriptions and station reports, assisting the station manager/class instructor, and assisting and encouraging my fellow DJs. I love it!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone for your interest, encouragement and support and I look forward to sharing more time with you on Finding Your Voice with DJ Noni, Mondays, 4pm-5pm, on radio.dominican.edu

Here are some tidbits from today's show:

Angel Message - Efficiency
"Ability to accomplish a job with a minimum expenditure of time and effort." dictionary.reference.com

Power Thought Message - from bmindful.com/affirmations/work
"I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. My work is recognized positively, my opinion is valued, and I possess an endless supply of creativity, energy and knowledge for any project that I take on."

Getting Things Done - Summarized from Dustin M. Wax lifehack.org
1. Do Most Important Tasks first.
2. Do 10 minutes of work, then rest for 2 minutes.
3. Focus on just the next action instead of the whole project.
4. Slow down. Take care of yourself.
5. Do similar tasks together.
6. Create personal privacy space with earphones.
7. Write details, appointments, and notes down to free your brain for thinking.
8. Make good use of Gap Time and do little tasks (write a quick thank you note, organize your wallet, read a chapter in a boo, clean out a  desk drawer).

How To Make a "To Do" List - by DJ Noni
-Your "To Do" list can be handwritten or electronic - do what works best for you.
-Be detailed and specific.
-Break projects down into smaller bites.
-Review your list regularly.
-It is okay to drop things off the list if you are just not getting them done.
